Better than a Box of Granola Bars – step by step instructions

Per request I made granola bars and took detail pictures of how to prepare them perfectly. These are a great “clean” snack or great addition to a kids lunch box for a special treat.

Recipe in Morgan’s Simple and Smart Meals Cookbook P. 39

1st step: Add agave and Peanut butter into saucepan, stir to combine. Low heat, stir occasionally to avoid burning.

While agave and PB are heating, combine remaining ingredients, except chocolate chips.

Next, once Agave and PB start to simmer……

As shown, not boiling. Just a slow simmer around the sides of the pan.

Add agave and PB mixture to oat mixture.

Gently mixture together

Add chocolate chips and then spread into 8×8 pan

Place into the freezer for 10-15 minutes and cut into granola bars. Wrap in saran wrap and store in refrigerator.

This is my favorite snack recipe out of your cookbook, and the kids love them too. You had posted a recipe for chocolate cookies (with oatmeal and cocoa powder, I think) a while back that I want to try…can you tell me where to find it?
